MY FAVORITE CERAMICS

Today I want to talk about something more design related. Ceramics have been an upcoming trend and there are a lot of talented designers that change the game for ceramics. So I'm going to share some of my favorites with you, be inspired!

1. Kristie van Noort

Kristie runs her own design studio in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. I saw some of her work at Dutch Design Week and immediately loved the look of her ceramics. With her designs she likes to communicate the process behind the materials. She performs color and material studies and also some fieldwork in China which led to one of my favorite collections: 6:1.

She incorporates leftover material from the regular manufacturing into her new designs. This results in some beautiful ceramics with materials that are considered 'waste' in the normal process for porcelain.

2. GHESQ

This is a ceramics company by Koen Ghesquière in Antwerp, Belgium. He has a more many and raw design style. In his ceramics he uses different oxides like rust and wood ash from different trees to become these earthy tones. I really like the low, straight borders on the plates and the splashes.

3. Ilona van den Bergh

Ilona wants to touch people with the purity and soberness of her designs. Just creating beautiful designs with eye for nature. She has very sleek and minimalistic designs as well as more organic styled. Her work is published in many magazines, her moonbowls for example were published in Dezeen. She also makes beautiful ceramic sculptures, which I haven't seen before.
